1. How do cheaters cheat?
Simple, they mess up datafiles, wich isnt that hard to do when you have the right tools. No i am not going to tell you how it can be done, its a prevention topic, not stimulation.
Cheaters alter the data, so the cars have higher topspeeds or have less weight, etc etc. Thats why they have advantage at cornering and on fast straights.
If i a cheater wants to cheat you cant stop him. What you can do is make a fool out of him/her.
Fist you need to know how you can locate a cheater? Ridicilous times are the best way to fool others who are not cheating.
2. What can you do to stop a cheater?
Pick exactly the same car the cheater race with. Most of the time they pick cars that others dont drive. RD2 synchronizes the data between players all the time. For example. When a host is cheating, he might pick an Opel (with messed up datafiles, you dont have) where others pick a Mercedes or something. If a no one else picks an Opel in that race the cheater is free to do what he want, and makes a fool out of you doing incredible times, and gain your respect.
But what you need to do is pick the same car (type and color, 1st or 2nd car in the team), when the race starts you will be kicked for datamismatch. You have the original files of the car but the cheater hasnt. When that happens you know the host is a cheater.
When the cheater is not the host and the host picks the same car as you do, he will be kicked for datamismatch as well.
